Shared Joy, Shared Immortality

When Fu Changsheng was six, he spent all ten copper coins he'd begged for to buy a black ring from a mysterious old man.

The old man told him he had extraordinary talent, a cultivation prodigy found once in ten thousand miles, and that the ring contained a great treasure capable of making someone immortal.

Fu Changsheng believed him.

But he spent eleven years desperately searching for the path to immortality, only to be repeatedly turned away by the immortal sects because he had the most useless kind of Five Element mixed spirit root.

Then, at last, he was accepted into a sect at seventeen.

He thought his path to immortality was finally within reach. But after two years in the sect, he had barely reached the second level of Qi Refining, and he accidentally learned a cruel truth.

The sect recruited male disciples to cultivate female cultivators!

Fortunately, his aptitude was so poor he didn't even qualify to be used as expendable material, so they assigned him to collect corpses on the back mountain.

Just as Fu Changsheng thought his hopes of immortality were over, the mysterious ring that had lain dormant for thirteen years finally acknowledged him as its master. With it came the Five Element Chaos Art, a cultivation method made for Five Element spirit roots!

From then on, the useless spirit root everyone despised became his greatest stroke of fortune.

But as his cultivation steadily advanced, Fu Changsheng began to notice that the immortal senior sisters who had once looked down on him seemed to be looking at him rather differently...

"Senior Sister, let's talk this through!"

"I'm just a corpse-collecting odd-job disciple. I'm really not some top-grade cultivation resource!"

"Senior Sister, please behave yourself!"
