Gunfire in 1937: A Fight to the Death Against the Japanese

Some of this book draws on the memoirs of commanders who took part in the fighting, published in Eyewitness Accounts of the August 13 Songhu Resistance War by the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference's Committee for Historical Data and Studies.

On August 13, 1937, the Battle of Songhu erupted, as the Japanese invaders sought to conquer China in a swift campaign. The people of China united against a common foe, while soldiers at the front fought through blood and fire. Facing the invaders' powerful ships and guns, they neither retreated nor fled nor gave in to fear. With their bodies, they stood against planes and artillery, writing stories of resistance that move us to this day.

We must never forget the blood debt owed by the Japanese invaders. The stories of our fallen heroes deserve to be honored. The rise of the Chinese nation cannot be stopped!

Tian Xiuyuan, an ordinary graduate of a military academy, joined the ranks fighting the Japanese invaders without hesitation, driven by a pure heart devoted to defending his country and protecting its people. Even if he had to die nine times, he would have no regrets.

There are no golden fingers in this book. It is neither a power fantasy about resisting the Japanese nor a sensationalized war drama.

This is simply the story of how ordinary Chinese people grew through blood and tears as they resisted the Japanese invaders.

Smoke of War 1937 will fight the Japanese invaders to the death!!!

This story is entirely fictional and set against a historical backdrop. It fulfills a dream of resisting the Japanese, shared by the author and readers.
