I Never Meant to Be Reborn: This Time, Let Me Pursue You

A fanfic of I Really Didn't Want to Be Reborn. Chen Hansheng and Xiao Rongyu return together to the summer before their senior year of high school. Xiao Rongyu has been reborn. She opens her eyes, her thirty-four-year-old soul back in her eighteen-year-old body. Cicadas sing loudly outside the window, and A Guide to the College Entrance Exam: Five Years of Exams, Three Years of Mock Tests lies open on her desk.

It is the summer of 2002, the day after Chen Hansheng confessed to her and she turned him down. In her previous life, she used "I don't date before college" as an excuse to shut the brash young man out. Then she watched helplessly as the two went from classmates to living in the same city, then became friends who could exchange greetings but had no reason to embrace. Until a message in their class group chat in 2019 tied everything into an irreparable knot. This time, she won't play the swan. She snuffs out the cigarette between his fingers, climbs onto the back of his bicycle, and boldly knocks on his door. "Chen Hansheng, I take back what I said last night. This time, I'll be the one to chase you first."
