The Evil God Borrows My Life, and I Borrow Its Divine Arts

In this world, divine bones can be bought and sold.

Fit one into a medicine furnace, and it can refine pills; place one in a village lantern, and it can ward off evil.

But as the old bones gradually burn away, some people have begun using the lives of the living to keep the flames going.

Chen Zhao nearly became fuel for the furnace.

To survive, he lent his right hand to an evil god. But when the god used his body to cast spells, Chen Zhao found that he could memorize every movement of spiritual energy, then slowly master the techniques himself with his own qi.

The evil god wants to use his life to return to the mortal world. Chen Zhao wants to learn the god's abilities and keep his life for himself.

Thus, a man and a god set out together in search of divine bones.

Some scattered divine bones are enshrined in temples, some are displayed in trading houses, and others protect the people of a village as they endure the long night.

Take a bone, and the lantern goes out. Leave it be, and the god in his wrist refuses to leave.

Chen Zhao has no choice but to start by repairing a furnace and replacing a lantern, turning the divine arts he secretly learned into skills people can use. He earns money, cultivates, and searches for a way to live without lending out his life.

But the more he learns, the less willing the evil god is to let go of this increasingly useful body.

Chen Zhao, too, gradually develops another idea.

If a god can cast spells through a human hand, can a human turn the tables and borrow a god's hand for once?
