Mushroom Folk

Ever since the Tang Sect of Shu discovered how to cultivate mushrooms and pioneered the art of incorporating fungi, the jianghu has entered a new era. Fungus users have appeared out of nowhere, shattering the old martial arts order. The balance of power has shifted, sects vie for supremacy, old grudges remain unsettled, and new feuds flare up.

To control the ever-growing number of fungus users, the imperial court establishes the Zhenwu Guard's Fungus Surveillance Bureau, tasked exclusively with monitoring fungus users throughout the land.

Li Yanqi of the Zhenwu Guard is ordered to travel far and wide, investigating the unauthorized incorporation of fungi and arresting those who use martial arts to defy the law. Regardless of a sect's standing or a person's reputation in the jianghu, anyone who breaks the bans falls within his jurisdiction.
