1965: From Forrest Gump in Vietnam to the Man in the White House

The peacemaker that is America has never started a war since World War II. It has only launched hundreds of police actions, hostile actions, emergency actions...

Take Good Morning, Vietnam, for example.

"We're not at war. This is just a police action."

In 1967, the Vietnam War was raging, and the two camps of the Cold War were locked in fierce confrontation.

Li Wei, a transmigrated, washed-up writer, was crouched in a tent in Vietnam, wondering how he had ended up there.

He had planned to serve out his year-long term, return to America, and use the knowledge in his head to build a thriving enterprise.

But then he discovered that every time he died, he could return to a point in time he had set, and gain a benefit.

If I can't die for good, then there's no reason I can't take the highest seat of power myself!!!

He made his first fortune through arms deals, struck up a connection with the instigator of the Gwangju mass martial arts movement, and laid the groundwork for a network of political allies.

Recruited by the CIA, he traveled to East Germany and rose to the pinnacle of intelligence work amid a silent spy war.

He moved on to the Americas, taking charge of the FBI's crackdowns on organized crime and drugs. Then he ventured deep into the jungles of South America, laying the groundwork for controlling the region in the future.

From the Grim Reaper of the Vietnamese jungles to the highest authority in the CIA and FBI, he wielded secret powers and maneuvered across the international chessboard, single-handedly shaping half a century of world affairs.

"I can't decide who gets elected president in the end, but I can decide who gets to run for president."

"Mr. Li Wei, it's cold out. Please put on another layer."

"You've really made life hard for me."
