Chronicles of the Eight Realms of Canglan

In the seventh year of Jinghe under the Great Yong, the Northern Lin cavalry reached the border, and the Central Plains teetered on the brink of ruin. A rainstorm at the Huaisi ferry brought eight people bound by fate together. The Seventh Prince, Ling Xuanchen, detested political struggles but could not escape the whirlpool of the imperial family. The Beggars' Guild leader, Shen Yanci, was famous throughout the land, yet his origins concealed a bloody debt twenty years in the making. The young master of the Su family, Su Yehen, possessed unparalleled talent, but his life's sole obsession was restoring his fallen clan. Among them were also an incomparable beauty, a cursed avenger, a competitive martial arts fanatic, a stoic woman, a boy from the lowest rung of society... Feuds of the martial world, wars for the realm, and the secrets of a Buddhist kingdom are revealed one by one. All living things suffer, and all eight realms are steeped in sin. Everyone struggles to pursue what they desire, only to find that some longings go unfulfilled, love means parting, heroes meet their end, and obsessions come to nothing. A sorrowful song of Canglan lays bare the countless regrets of this world.
