Republic-Era Martial Saint: I Have a Mantis Clone

In the waning years of the dynasty, warlords carve up the realm and treat human lives as worthless. Western ironclads invade the land, while demons within the palace bring ruin to the country. At court, nobles wag their tails and beg to surrender. Across the martial world, foreign rifles and cannons shatter the bones of grandmasters. Steam-powered prosthetics sweep the realm, and implanted chips lock away the thresholds to higher realms. Martial warriors must either accept Western implants, become modified humans, and pay a blood-and-qi tax, or consume demons to cultivate and unleash their evil in battle, only to sink into the demonic path themselves, wreak havoc across the land, and lose sight of their original purpose. Fortunately, Shen Jing has a mantis clone. Survive and hunt, explore blessed lands, vie for precious medicines, and kill to evolve. The mantis clone's golden eyes, silver armor, wind wings, fire blades, and insect breath can all be synchronized with the original body. Starting as a mere insect, he will climb step by step to the summit, becoming a Martial Saint among men and an earthly immortal, striking down injustice with his blade and saving the world from collapse.
