Talisman Spells? I'll Just Use Physics Formulas

A physics PhD transmigrates to a cultivation world and becomes a useless outer disciple. Then he discovers that the essence of talismans is topological knots, and cultivation techniques are algorithms that can be optimized. While others draw talismans, he ties knots. While others cultivate, he builds models. While others ascend, he searches for a way out to higher dimensions. Three months later, at the outer sect examination, everyone expects the useless disciple to be expelled. Lin Feng raises a hand and forms an eight-leaf knot. "I suggest you all come at me together."
