Spark of Xinghuo

In the autumn of 2021, a meteorite 1.8 meters in diameter crashed into the remote mountains of Changyuan Town, Lanxi County. There was no explosion, no radiation, only a low-frequency pulse that swept across an eighty-meter radius for 3.7 seconds.

Codename: Star Marrow.

Seven people entered those mountains on the same day, each for a different reason: a neurosurgeon, a sonar operator, a materials science PhD, a theoretical physicist, a geological engineer, a Nanyin musical tradition bearer, and an esports player. The Star Marrow field was assessing their compatibility, amplifying the cognitive patterns they were already best at.

Lu Yuan perceived the invariants of higher-dimensional manifolds. Ye Qing sensed defects in crystal lattices. Lin Zhao's fingers could isolate a single muscle fiber. Shen Mo heard the earth's pulse at eighteen hertz. Chen Ge's visual temporal resolution reached 180 hertz. Fang Tang's clappers struck the Star Marrow's fundamental frequency. Wu Yan stood firm under fifteen times Earth's gravity.

The state took control, and Project Spark was launched. The seven became the
