The Long Cold Era: Starting in Luwan

Zhang Han, a retired jungle special forces operative, is hurled from Earth into an unfamiliar snowy wilderness on a stormy night. It resembles a survival game he once played, except there are no respawns or save files. The cold, pollution, and hunger of a post-nuclear-war world are forcing settlements to fight one another for the last of the water and heat.

It begins when he saves a young member of a gathering party. In Furnace Bay, he learns to protect a well, a furnace, and a group of people. Later, the White Tower, which monopolizes medicine and breeding technology, sets its sights on him and forces him to answer a question: when simply staying alive is hard enough, do humans still have the means to help others survive too?
