Paranormal Events on the Island

On this island nation, politeness is an instinct etched into everyone's bones. People learn to hide their feelings and swallow their discontent, avoid conflict, and follow the path society has laid out for them, never daring to stand out or ask questions. Life appears calm on the surface, but beneath it lies a crushing weight that makes it hard to breathe. Rigid rules seep into everyday life, leaving no room for different voices. Long years of conformity gradually wear away the vivid edges of the human spirit. The workplace is a sealed cage, with rigid hierarchies and endless mental exhaustion that drains away all hope. Order weaves a fine net over the island nation. Only street-corner gossip and strange rumors offer people a brief chance to catch their breath. Public opinion and economists are used to blaming every hardship on the bursting of the economic bubble and an era that has ground to a halt. But a deeper shadow lies beneath the soil, buried long before the problems of modern society took shape. A long-sealed resentment flows underground, slowly seeping upward and imperceptibly twisting the hearts and minds of everyone above. Unexplainable strange events keep emerging, one after another.
