The Supernatural Begs Me Not to Go Crazy

Lu Ming is a wage slave driven to the brink of madness by his clients. Then, in an elevator, he receives his first rule: "Do not look up, or you will be in breach of contract." He falls into an endless series of nested rule-based scenarios, each one a battlefield of human nature: a neighborhood so polite it is terrifying, a convenience store open in the middle of the night... And the "same pen" that truly wrote all of this turns out to be the suicide note he wrote in a previous life. Lu Ming decides to exploit loopholes with a client's logic and break through by giving up: "This request is unreasonable, but there's a loophole." When the truth behind every scenario comes to light, he must choose between a "predetermined fate" and the "freedom to truly give up," and mount a rebellion even the client can't reject.
