Waiting on the Bench

A hygienist wrote on a piece of paper: If I can't come back, bury me back. I will look over here. Seventy years later, his granddaughter dug out this piece of paper from the bottom of the camphor box. Marrying far away, confinement, divorce, raising a child alone, and changing her career to be a class teacher at the age of thirty - she recorded everything along the way: the pig's foot soup that got cold during confinement, the warm soy milk on the office window sill, and the half piece of candy handed to her by the student. It wasn't until the day the camphor box was reopened that she knew who taught her to keep this account.
