Frost and Ash

The battle god Jinyuan has spent billions of years guarding the Three Realms with his spear. Cold and unfeeling, he obeys only the decrees of Heaven. When calamity strikes Qingqiu, demonic energy consumes the Spirit Ruins and wipes out the entire fox clan. Jinyuan charges through the sea of flames to purge the demons. Among the scattered bones, a young nine-tailed fox breaks free of the scorched earth and runs straight toward him. At a single glance, the divine heart frozen for eternity begins to stir. Heaven's laws are merciless: when a battle god falls in love, the one he loves will be hunted down and destroyed by the will of Heaven. A demon's body already struggles to survive heavenly tribulations. If left to fate, she will eventually lose her soul and never enter the cycle of reincarnation. Jinyuan refuses to lose this spark of life. He willingly binds himself to a forbidden contract spanning seven lifetimes, imprisoning himself in a long purgatory and using his own divine bones as a furnace to temper her soul, life after life.
