Immortality Begins in the Great Qin: Two Thousand Years of Wandering

Zhou Fan suddenly dies, then wakes to find that he has transmigrated to ancient times. In the Qin dynasty, he helped Ying Zheng ascend the throne while he was still young, and fought for supremacy across the realm, helping Qin unite the land. In the Han dynasty, he and Huo Qubing sealed their names at Mount Langju Xu. That single campaign earned them the highest honor an ancient general could aspire to. From then on, the Han dynasty no longer confined itself to defending the northern frontier: if the enemy could come, so could they. He also witnessed the Han realm shatter, with the empire divided into three. In the Tang dynasty, he witnessed the empire at the height of its glory, when peace reigned, harvests were abundant, and envoys from every nation came to pay tribute. He settled in the imperial capital and built Chang’an’s foremost tower, the Celestial Immortal Pavilion, where music, dance, delicacies, and exquisite curiosities gathered under one roof, making it the finest establishment in the capital. In the Song dynasty, he traveled across the Central Plains and saw with his own eyes a devastated land and suffering multitudes. Despite his knowledge spanning millennia, he could not turn the tide alone, and was left to feel the limits of human power and the helplessness in his heart. In the Ming dynasty, he resolved to overthrow the old order. He worked his way up step by step, from an ordinary volunteer soldier to a commander in his own right, and finally to the highest position of all, where he carried out a thorough reform of people’s thinking. He is both a witness to history and a maker of it. For two thousand years, he… drifted through the currents of history.
