The Day I Was Laid Off, I Moved in With My Boss

On the day of the layoffs, Jiang Che lost his job. The company he’d worked at for six years suddenly announced a round of cuts, and his name was on the list. As if things weren’t bad enough, just as he was getting ready to look for another job, his landlord told him someone else had already moved into his place. Even more absurdly, the new tenant was the younger sister of the company’s new boss, the very person who had just laid him off. An unemployed programmer and a beautiful, rich heiress who gets whatever she wants. Through a twist of fate, the two end up sharing a home. “First, stay out of my room.” “Second, keep all shared spaces absolutely clean.” “Third, don’t use the washing machine.” “Fourth, don’t make a sound after ten at night.” “Fifth, don’t tell anyone we’re living together.” … Faced with one strict rule after another, Jiang Che was ready to walk away. But then Ying Rushi said, “I’ll pay eighty percent of the rent, you pay twenty, and I’ll cover all the living expenses.” “What else would you like? Just say the word!”
