Want to Fall in Love? The World-Saving Kind

Qin Yue was famous throughout her department for being an ice queen. She always turned people down with a single sentence, then walked away. She never made exceptions. Until she rejected Zhou Zhi. He nodded earnestly. "Could you tell me why? I'd like to do a root-cause analysis." For the first time, she met someone who asked her to "fill out a feedback survey" after being rejected. Later, strange things began appearing at the corner of her desk: A hot milk tea at just the right temperature, left behind by someone who turned and walked away; An umbrella that appeared right on time on rainy days, with a note saying, "The rain will last until Thursday"; A box of soft, steaming rice, with just two words on top: "Eat while hot." She waited a long time for him to ask for something. Nothing ever came. She didn't know that Zhou Zhi sat three desks away, shielding her from the air-conditioning and secretly chewing his way through the textbooks for her major. She also didn't know that a line of text floated before his eyes: 1,095 days until the end of the world. And the way to save the world was to help someone like her finally believe that someone could be kind to her without expecting anything in return.
