Rebuilding the Great Ming

In the seventh year of the Tianqi reign, the emperor is gravely ill. Shen Yan, a PhD in materials science, awakens as Zhu Youjian, the Prince of Xin, who is about to ascend the throne. He knows the Great Ming is doomed, but he also knows that a ready-made answer from the future cannot save an empire riddled with troubles. The treasury is empty, border troops go unpaid, Shaanxi is suffering a severe drought, and factional strife rages at court. Beyond the passes, Huang Taiji is searching for a way into the empire. He does not rush to kill Wei Zhongxian, trust the upright officials blindly, or expect a single divine weapon to turn the tide. He starts by checking the accounts, training five thousand real soldiers, and making sure the people have food, trying to secure a path to survival for the Great Ming. But when history changes because of him, the future no longer comes with ready-made answers.
