Eighty-One Trials

The protagonist, Yangguang, is an ordinary boy who accidentally falls into the mysterious "Nine-Nine Fantasy Realm." There are no fearsome demon kings here, only eighty-one strange and hilarious little fairy-tale worlds. Each time he clears a stage, Yangguang must face a mischievous little monster: the Lazy Cloud Procrastination Monster, the Careless Mistake-Prone Monster, the Give-Up-Halfway Monster, the Lonely Fog Monster, the Awkward Family Affection Monster, and more. They don't eat people or pick fights, but they excel at making people laze around, make mistakes, give up, argue, and shut themselves away. As Yangguang tackles each challenge, he slowly grows through laughter and trouble. He can't rely on strength alone. He must overcome the little problems hidden in everyday life again and again through action, attentiveness, perseverance, sincerity, and courage. This book is a fairy-tale adventure. The first eighty trials are all stories, and only after the eighty-first does he finally reach the true ending. This is a coming-of-age story about a teenager.
