The Players Behind the Scenes

Ensemble cast, no single protagonist “If you see those dark red words on your phone, remember two things: First, don't be late. Second, don't die in there.” The “Chiron” app descends upon the United States without warning. It offers no exchange shop and displays no combat stats, only a ruthlessly pure elimination system: winners gain supernatural powers left behind by the gods, while losers become names among the missing. Overnight, the entire country is plunged into an irreversible “pseudo-spiritual qi revival.” War-hardened veterans, gangland desperados, research scholars, unemployed young people from the margins of society... anyone could become a supernatural monster tearing through the streets by tomorrow morning. As society descends into total disorder, the National Bureau of Anomalous Affairs maintains a facade of calm. Heavily armed cleanup crews hunt rampaging abominations in storm drains and atop skyscrapers, while the White House and the conglomerates vie for living samples from those who clear the trials in secret chambers. Multiple storylines intertwine, and everyone is ruthless. In the cruel trials set by the gods, survival is the only endgame.
