The day the supernatural invaded, people around the world awakened rule-based talents. When it was my turn, the detector flashed three words: “No upper limit.” Then it burned out. All five of them did. The authorities stamped my file: “Anomalous specimen, status pending.” Then they forgot me in a corner. Fine by me. No one was watching. From then on, each night, a “woman in the mist” with no official existence roamed this dead city. She did only one thing: eat rules. The supernatural beings had [Fear]? Eaten. [Splitting]? Eaten. [Instant Kill]? Eaten. Everyone else hid from the supernatural and ran for their lives. I hid from people so I could eat. They feared the supernatural. What I feared was that tonight’s creatures wouldn’t be enough to fill me up. Until the supernatural swallowed half the city and a million people knelt, calling me “Lord of the Clouds.” I said, “Don’t call me a god. I’m just here for a meal.” I looked up.
