Synopsis of The Last Days In the year 20XX, an unknown disaster swept across the globe. Within thirty days, cities fell apart, order collapsed, and the world became a wasteland. On the thirtieth day, a voice came from the sky: supernatural abilities had awakened. On the thirty-first day, the sky spoke again: three-quarters of humanity had become zombies. Zombies are divided into ten levels. They can evolve over time or by devouring humans, and the higher their level, the greater their intelligence. The only way for humans to grow stronger is to kill zombies, remove the crystal from between their brows, and absorb it. Qin Hongying, a twenty-one-year-old college student, was trapped on campus when the apocalypse began. He isn't particularly kind or clever. He lives by one simple rule: if you give your word, keep it. His last memory before the end of the world was a voice message from his younger sister, Qin Ruoyun: "I'm fine, big brother. Don't come back." Thirty days passed, with no word from her. Taking his timid but loyal roommate Lin Yan with him, he sets out from the basement of Binjiang University Library and heads south. Survivors' camps are rife with infighting, military checkpoints let only people with supernatural abilities pass, and people have set up toll barriers on the old highway. Meanwhile, the Level 1 zombie that escaped from a road maintenance workers' dormitory is vanishing into the depths of a dead forest.
