Fragments are constantly falling from their bodies, transforming into monsters that wreak havoc across the land. War rages across the continent, monsters rampage and kill, and danger lurks everywhere. Hock's dreams of an otherworldly adventure shatter in an instant. “I might as well die again!” Fortunately, he isn't some good-for-nothing with no strength to fight back. “You mean I can devour demons and gain their abilities?” “Exactly. Pretty amazing, huh?” The black-haired woman in his mind explained. Hock nodded thoughtfully, then asked in earnest: “I get all that, but could you get the hell out of my head first?” Years later, Hock looked at the countless demonic abilities on his skill panel and nodded with satisfaction. “Every demon is a top-notch experience point bag, and they're so nice to talk to.” “I absolutely love them!”
