Farming the Countryside, Year After Year

Years of Farming in the Countryside Born to a farming family, Sui Sui lost both her parents at a young age and was left in the care of her grandmother, Yang. Her grandmother favored boys and doted on her grandson, while Sui Sui became the family's unpaid servant. She washed clothes in the river in the dead of winter and spent her days tending the fire and feeding the pigs. The slightest mistake earned her a scolding. The neighbors all pitied her, but this little wildflower refused to be broken. She did not transmigrate or return reborn. With her nimble hands, Sui Sui learned to spin thread and pickle vegetables, slowly saving up money and food. The favoritism and harsh treatment at the old homestead could not stop her from moving forward. Sui Sui put down roots in the countryside and worked hard to make a life, carving out a place of her own amid the warmth and bustle of farm life.
