Zheng Xiangchen was a programmer who had no knack for office politics. When a colleague who had pulled strings took credit for his work, he quit. Instead of going home, he rented a room and learned the trade from Master Li, the plumber across the hall. By day, he took plumbing and electrical jobs; by night, he refurbished used computers, scraping by on enough to eat. Then there was Master Wang, a fellow tradesman who used tech to snap up jobs.
