The Age of the Insect Swarm

The main hive has fallen, and the insect race’s system of rule has collapsed. In Cavern 97-Δ, the surviving clusters of insect eggs, left without the hive’s protection, feel their way toward a new way of surviving in the dark caves. In the Darkheart Abyss, Yun Che continues to observe a single seed of protection as an ancient void consciousness slowly awakens. Just as humanity, the newborn Glimmer Insect Race, and the native crystalline-vein lifeforms begin trying to forge a pact of coexistence, extraterrestrial constructs invade through a rift in the void, bringing a new cosmic crisis. On one side, the newborn insect swarm struggles with internal divisions and adjustment. On the other, ancient beings stir in the depths of the abyss. When the interstellar network rises into the sky and a suicide squad gives its lives to break the Destroyers’ coordination, humanity finally understands: the insect race was never merely a natural disaster.
