You in My Painting

At the architecture building of Nancheng University, Shen Chi knocks over Lu Shinian’s drawing board. Scattered across the floor are sketches of the same girl. She thinks they are of her older sister, Shen Nian. But Shen Nian has been missing for a year. Lu Shinian has been drawing her for three years, never knowing she had a twin sister. Shen Chi comes to Nancheng University to find her sister, only to discover that her sister’s disappearance, Lu Shinian’s decision to stop painting, and the painting titled Spring Comes Late all point to the same secret: Her sister didn’t go missing. She disappeared by choice. And the key, old letters, and single “I’m sorry” she left behind push Shen Chi toward the boy who never paints people. He paints shadows. But she is the light.
