The Bearer of Death and the Undying Rebel

A wielder of the power of death descended from a higher dimension and ruled the planet. Those who resisted were cursed with immortality and transformed into living corpses. A thousand years later, the Evil Eye was born, using lifespan as fuel. Two centuries after that, the resistance leader used a chain of frozen time to create a temporal displacement, making the main body and its duplicate miss their appointment. The higher dimension reclaimed the power and severely wounded the ruler of death. After merging with its duplicate, the ruler lifted the seal on the monsters, then promptly perished. The apocalypse came: monsters ruled the land, and human civilization collapsed. The leader discovered the truth behind the murals: the underlying code of the wielder of the power of death was “love”, an absolute, controlling kind of love. It loved humanity, so it made people immortal, resurrected them, suppressed the monsters, and restricted technology, ultimately returning both freedom and disaster to the world.
