The Demon Plague of Late Ming

In the late Ming, a plague of monsters ravages the land, and the whole realm is rotten to the core. Chen Wang, a deserter from Liaodong, was born with eyes that can see filthy things. On a rainy night, he digs a living woman out from beneath a heap of flesh with seven or eight human faces. She has lost her memory, is wanted, and has black patterns coiled around her neck. Her face is on the demon-hunting wanted posters. Each time he saves her, another gray line appears on his body, creeping toward his heart. A white lantern glows at the mouth of the alley. The closed eye painted on it turns toward him through the paper. He must either lead her out of this web, or become something like the thing on her body.
