The People of Tongwei

At his grandfather's funeral, Chen Mo receives a final letter: “The family line must not end.” He plans to leave as soon as the funeral is over, but an old inkstone, a photograph of veteran Red Army soldiers, and a pair of “mad old men” who have spent fifty years planting trees keep him there. Only after deciding to stay does he realize that protecting this land takes more courage than fleeing it.
