Why Does the World Show Me Such Favor?

There are great heroic epics that give people the courage to move forward, and there are eternal legends etched into bone and blood, passed down and revered. This is a world where "stories" can come true, a world where "wishes" can be granted. But there is one boy who happens to dislike both "stories" and "wishes." He has seen what it looks like when stories come true, and he has seen the price of having a wish granted. He has always felt that the supposedly "omnipotent" being probably only hears sometimes, remembers sometimes, and is willing sometimes. And when someone tried to make a wish... It heard. It remembered. It granted it.
