Aboveground, Underground

An accident separates Xiong Zhaochun, whose parents are already dead, from his elder brother, Xiong Honghui, behind the towering prison walls. Fortunately, his cousin stays by his side, and they rely on each other through the years that follow. Zhaochun studies hard and, after graduating, becomes an excellent psychologist. His brother continues working hard to reform himself behind bars. After starting a family, his cousin endures many marital hardships, yet still struggles to survive. Everyone bears their own wounds and shortcomings, living in solitude in this crowded world. In public and in private, aboveground and below, everyone lives a many-sided life that only they themselves fully understand.
