Another World Invades Earth

It has been 143 days since the meteor fell to Earth. This object from beyond the heavens, wreathed in ghostly emerald flames, weighed 7,000 tons and fell at Mach 54. Humanity's fastest missiles could reach only Mach 20, leaving us no way to intercept it. An apocalyptic disaster was imminent. But just as the meteor was about to pierce the atmosphere, with all humanity's lives hanging by a thread, a massive rainbow of light rose in the east and shot straight into the clouds. The giant object faced off against the rainbow for several seconds before the crimson pillar of energy pierced it, turning it into a "meteor shower." Though the destruction of Blue Star was ultimately prevented, the impact from the meteor's fragments destroyed human society. Massive waves swallowed the land, the climate turned hot and humid, volcanic eruptions grew frequent, and lava flowed everywhere. Dust blanketed the sky, plunging Blue Star into darkness. Yet in just three days, Blue Star once again showed us her incredible power of recovery. Greenery reclaimed the land. Vegetation ran wild, growing incredibly tall and sturdy. Even the weeds that once lay beneath our feet now reached our calves.
