Cheng Jiahao works as a professional “cleaner” for the secret organization Ashen Register, tasked with handling people the law cannot reach on behalf of the state. His method is to stage bizarre accidents so the police ultimately rule the deaths accidental. That is, until he meets Wen Jiao at an accident scene, a homicide detective who specializes in cracking “perfect accidents.” Opposites on either side of the law, cat and mouse forced to work together, lovers caught between life and death: in the end, both are swept into the vortex of the Register.
