Water Margin of the Apocalypse

In 2046, civilization collapsed and the wasteland came. Humans, superhumans, and the flesh-eaters formed a three-way standoff. Their wars raged without end, and the apocalypse was filled with smoke and gunfire. Song Jiang suddenly awoke, believing he had transmigrated from the Northern Song dynasty to this time. In his previous life, he had accepted an imperial pardon and led an expedition against Fang La, leaving his Liangshan brothers dead and wounded. His heart was full of regret. In this life, he swore never to abandon a single brother. Using livestreams to stay in touch and travel around to bring them together, he gradually gathered all 107 heroes of Liangshan, and the outlaws of Liangshan reunited once more in the wasteland. They fought their way forward, seemingly on the verge of defeating the two great powers of the flesh-eaters and the superhumans, when the cruel truth was suddenly revealed. They were not visitors from the Great Song. They were all manufactured robots. The mastermind behind it all was named Jiutian, the gifted daughter of a wealthy family and an allusion to the Nine Heavens Mysterious Maiden from Water Margin. She had implanted false memories through chips and driven the heroes to fight for her. Once they wiped out their enemies, she planned to enslave all of humanity. The 108 heroes broke free of the chips’ control, confined Jiutian, and refused to be used as tools. Their false memories had been fabricated, but their brotherhood was utterly real. The story also weaves in the heroes’ individual pre-apocalypse adventures: Dai Zong develops magical running shoes capable of reaching 100 kilometers per hour; Hu Sanniang organizes a spectacular road-trip matchmaking event; the heavily indebted Yang Zhi grits his teeth, shoulders his immense debt, and turns his fortunes around to pay it off; and Zhu Gui runs the Water Margin Inn, pioneering a franchise model. After the apocalypse, his inns can be found everywhere, serving as forward bases for the heroes’ fight against outsiders. The three Ruan brothers and many others also each have their own past in the modern world. The Liangshan heroes, with their mechanical bodies, put aside their battles and choose to join hands with ordinary humans, searching for a path to peaceful coexistence in the shattered wasteland.
