Dongting Red Sand

During the Republic of China, there was a red sand slope unique to Dongting Lake in Baijiagou on Chishan Island in the Yuanjiang River. The red sandy ground is drained and breathable, and the sweet potatoes grown there are thick and white in color, and the flour yield is higher than elsewhere. When the lake was closed due to war, the people of Baijiagou relied on this red sandy slope to grind seed potatoes into flour, and the flour became a living food. Guarding the land, protecting seeds, and grinding flour - the red sand slope is the root of Baijiagou, and the red sand potato starch is proof that this land supports people.
