Global Broadcast Day

I call that day “Broadcast Day.” It all began with a charred twig. After school that day, I picked it up. It said it could write one sentence into the rules of this world for me. Back then, I wanted nothing more than to stir up trouble, so as a prank, I made it play half a sentence in the minds of every “real human” at the same time: 【You are the only human in this world. Everyone else is???】 I deliberately left out the second half. Three seconds later, the world fell silent for a moment. The teacher’s smile slowly stretched from ear to ear, and the whole class turned to look at me in unison. From the kitchen, Mom asked softly, “Son, you heard it too, didn’t you?” But I soon discovered a rule that could get me killed: Only those who heard the broadcast were human. And real humans would never ask that question. I thought I was the only person in the world who was still sane, and that I’d torn open the sky with my own hands. Until I remembered something. That broadcast was meant only for “real humans.” And I heard it too.
