His only talent is that he can taste whatever comes into his mouth. Until he drank the bowl of magic potion and became the ninth "gourmet" in the gluttony sequence. He tasted the wheat coated with sea salt and ashes. He tasted the grain carts dedicated to the gods, heading for the ferry in the wall of fog. He could taste a heartbeat in his stomach that shouldn't belong to him. The church wants to feed him. The commandments are to tame him. The boat in the fog was waiting for him. And the bone ring that could suppress the madness was getting hotter and hotter on his fingertips. He just wants to survive another Lent - but the price of eating is that he starts to hear everyone's whispers.
