From the Smoke of Battle

This is the story of a young man from the Hexi Corridor who was about to be conscripted, fled to Lingnan, got into Huangpu, and then...

Starting out with a forty-five-man reconnaissance unit, he fought in the Eastern Expedition and the Northern Expedition, returned to Hexi, fought in the War of Resistance, and then helped liberate and build the country. He never stopped striving along this path, not even once in his life.

This isn't a wish-fulfillment novel that explodes from the start, nor is it a lighthearted comedy for entertainment. It's a realistic historical novel. The early chapters focus on learning skills at school, so there are fewer dramatic highs, but once the journey begins, the blood never cools.

I dedicate this book to everyone who has made their way through hardship.
