Reality, Still a Draft

When Lin Mo was nineteen, he discovered that the convenience store that had been there the day before had turned overnight into a pharmacy that had been in business for eight years. Everyone said he must have remembered wrong. Later, a classmate vanished completely from the roster, the photographs, the chat logs, and everyone's memories. Only Lin Mo still remembered that the person had existed. Later still, he met someone with the exact same face as his. The other man had no identification, no reliable records, and was even being slowly forgotten by the world. Lin Mo asked him, “Who are you, really?” The man was silent for a long time, then said just one thing. “I used to be called Lin Mo, too.” Only from that day on did Lin Mo gradually realize Reality wasn't incapable of making mistakes. It simply changed them until nobody could remember. And the real question was: If two contradictory answers had both once lived as truth, what gave this world the right to allow only one to remain?
