Low Altitude Shadow

Five years ago, in the dormitory of Hongtu Polytechnic University, two teenagers stayed up late to write a set of algorithms with a ridiculous name: "Give Way". It has only one ability: to help low-altitude drones learn not to hit things and learn to fly with their companions. One is named Yusuf and the other is named Karim. Five years later, the wind of war blew from the northeast. Yusuf sat under the torch of the Black Rock Refinery, staring at a radar screen that was always noisy; Karim sat at a console three hundred kilometers away, renamed the same algorithm, and loaded it into the drone that flew to the refinery. None of them knew that the light spot crawling against the ground on the screen and the hand pressing the launch button outside the screen were the shadow of the same person. Until one day, a plane crashed into the wreckage in the sand, with a codename written in oil-based pen that only the two of them recognized. And neither of them reported the other as "that person". This is a hard-core novel based on radar equations, cost exchange ratios and interception windows. Fatima is Yusuf's fiancée, a reporter who is repeatedly torn between "truth" and "heroism"; Salim has believed in "engineer's certainty" all his life, until there is an uncountable column in the energy ledger; Amina has seen through the entire chess game, but has to interpret every move as a "victory" for the person who plays the chess. The desert never records who has been there. It only records one thing: the wind, what it left behind, and what it took away. And in the low sky it illuminates, there are always new shadows, waiting for the next fall.
