Fifty Meters

The high concentration of poisonous gas released from the earth's core enveloped fifty meters of the earth's surface, killing almost all people and animals who had not had time to climb higher. The survivors are trapped between high-rise buildings, relying on rainwater, hydroponic bean sprouts, solar energy and steel cables between buildings to barely continue civilization. Sixteen years later, the poisonous gas has not dissipated, but the buildings are beginning to corrode, crack, and lean. Maintenance worker Yu Li lives on the 53rd floor, which is closest to the death line. He repairs leaking pipes, checks aging steel cables every day, and then uses magnetic hooks and long cables to "blindly fish" for supplies from the poisonous gas area. There is no system, no superpowers, no golden fingers, and no savior here. Every bucket of water, every seed, every meter of steel cable had to be paid for. When more and more high-rise buildings collapse, people must decide: which building to save with limited resources, and who to pick up first on the crumbling ropeway.
