Don't Ask Me to Come Over

The light for evening self-study flashes every twenty-two minutes. That night, Lin Ze heard someone outside the door calling him to open the door in the voice of the head teacher: "Lin Ze, it's me." After that night, the sky turned into a piece of persistent gray, there was no signal on mobile phones, and people began to "lose their voices" - first they became speechless, and then they began to learn to use other people's voices and faces to blend in with the crowd little by little. They don't bite, they just replace. Lin Ze is seventeen years old, in the second (third) class of high school, with mid-range grades and a low sense of presence. His only ability is his good eyesight - he can count the patterns of flashing lights and tell when a person is smiling incorrectly. From that night in the classroom, to escaping from school, going south to find his mother, entering the survivor camp, and then under the signal tower in the north, he slowly understood the phrase "Come back": That's not a ghost cry. That's all the people who were sucked away, "thinking" together. That tower is made up of the pieces of people who "feel like they are alone" in their hearts. His mother, using the last bit of herself, pushed his classmate out of the tower. This book is not about winning a battle. It means that one person shouts a name, and the people inside are called back one by one.
