Xuanxuan Rootless Tree

Core argument (general outline of ancient books): Those without roots are alive in the realm of nothingness, and something is created out of nothing. Rootlessness is the source of roots. Mortals practice Taoism according to the rules and rely on the traces of the way of heaven as their roots. The protagonist Zhang Tong has no roots in his destiny and is detached from the shackles. He cultivates the Tao against the odds and creates the Tao out of nothing, which perfectly fits the original essence of alchemy in ancient books.
