The Anti-Japanese War was not only a battle of swords and blood, but also a war of culture and ideas. The story I wrote began in early 1938 during the large-scale fall of North China, in a fictional area called "Lishui", where many local forces were fighting - the Japanese, puppet troops, bandits, armed workers behind enemy lines, and even anti-communist forces within the Kuomintang. The people here are flesh and blood. The ordinary people who protect the anti-Japanese soldiers, the small traders and hawkers who pass on information, etc. Are all writing their own legends. They will use their actions to prove what a war is and how it will start a prairie fire.
