In 2050, the global science and technology system is experiencing an unprecedented rupture. Quantum computing, artificial intelligence and energy networks have become new strategic boundaries, and the supply chains that once connected the world are disappearing one by one. Robert Miller, an American quantum engineer who lost his job, discovered in an accident that the world he was forced to leave was undergoing a huge change that could change the future of mankind. In order to find his departed lover Mei, he embarked on a journey to China, but gradually discovered that it was never just the borders between countries that truly trapped mankind.
