From the Construction Site to the Boardroom

Zhao Geda left the village at the age of eighteen and was waiting for work under an overpass. On the first day, he was distracted while moving bricks, but he still memorized the cement markings. The foreman scolded him for being stubborn, but he insisted on taking the safety officer exam; his colleagues laughed at him for being stupid, and he stayed up until two o'clock at night watching construction videos. From being a contract worker to being an independent contractor for the renovation of old communities, he has experienced kickback traps, price reductions by general contractors, and traps by developers. However, every time he is about to fall down, he thinks of his mother's words: "A person who is poor has a lot of ambition." Ten years later, he was sitting in the boardroom reviewing drawings, and the contractor boss opposite him who had humiliated him took the initiative to support him. He only said one thing: I am still the same Zhao Geda who is waiting for a job, but now I am waiting for a job with conscience.
