Martial Arts: Starting as a Dockworker

In the final years of the Great Liang dynasty, foreign warships pound at the gates, and the world falls into chaos.

The north is ablaze with warfare; the south is plagued by natural disasters. Only the southwestern mountains remain a refuge, isolated from the rest of the world.

In Baima County, a place teeming with all sorts, officials collude with bandits. Four major gangs and powerful local clans jointly control both sides of the law.

Chen Ye, a man from the lowest rungs of society, awakens the wisdom of a former life and gains a panel for every martial profession. Starting as a dock laborer, he eventually becomes a martial arts legend.

[Dock Laborer] Mastered: awakens the talent [Move Mountains and Lift Cauldrons]. His strength multiplies, his muscles become like steel, and his physical power surges several times over.

[Coachman] Mastered: awakens the talent [Fleetfooted Steps]. His stride quickens, his body darts like an arrow, and his running speed increases dramatically.

[Chef] Mastered: awakens the talent [Cauldron of Nourishment]. He uses his body as a cauldron, taking in food to strengthen his foundations. The more he eats, the more he can refine his body...

With this talent panel, Chen Ye hones his blade alone, slaughters gangs, executes powerful clans, cuts down corrupt officials, and destroys warlords. His sword points straight at the foreign powers.

Years later, the foreigners aim their guns and warships at him and demand in a harsh voice, "What is a legend?"

Chen Ye strides through the smoke, hands behind his back, and stands atop the Great Wall. "Martial prowess spanning past and present, mastery over heaven and earth, and a mortal defying the might of every nation: that is a legend!"
