Locust Corner

On the edge of the southern coastal city, there is a scar that has not yet been demolished, called Sophora Tree Corner. The old locust tree at the entrance of the village has stood for eighty years, and the locust flowers bloom and fall every year. Lao Zhang's food stall has been open for thirteen years. He guards the cast iron pot, a greasy accounting book, and a locked iron box. At nine o'clock in the night, when the lights turn on, the street finally wakes up: the chatty night shift driver Pepper, the little nurse Xiaotang who disappears every Thursday, the programmer Zhou Ang who pretends to still be at work, Huang Mao Aken who dreams of being an anchor, and the fat aunt who has been making pickles for ten years and has agreed to open the forum on the day of demolition. Stores will be demolished, people will disperse, and locust trees will be moved away. But there are always some things that cannot be taken away - such as that bowl of noodles late at night, or the people who have eaten noodles together.
